It’s recommended when choosing your gym to go thought these steps:

  • Be realistic - What is your level of fitness experience?
  • Find out what gyms are around you.  Make sure the gyms you are looking into are close to your daily routine.
  • Find out the cost. How much are you willing to pay? The price of gym membership will vary depending on the services offered and the duration of membership
  • Visit the gyms. Visit the gyms during the times that you are planning to work out. Is it really crowded? Are the machines you would want to use taken quickly?
  • What about atmosphere? Look at the type of people who are already members, and see if you would be willing to puff and sweat alongside them. Some women feel more comfortable working out at women-only gyms, some people don’t like loud music etc.
  • Check out the equipment. Be sure the equipment is clean and well maintained
  • Talk to the staff. Is the staff friendly and helpful?
  • Check the refund policy. If you do not like the gym after joining can you get your money back?
  • Check out the other gyms or sign up.
