Foreign visitors are free to import into Serbia, without any payment, articles for their personal use while on a trip, regardless of whether these items are carried with them or transported by a carrier.
It’s free to import clothes, shoes, toiletries, sporting equipment etc., in quantities needed by the traveler concerned in view of his/her occupation, season, purpose of trip, duration and other circumstances of the trip and stay in Serbia.
In accordance with the international Convention Concerning Customs Facilities for Touring, items of personal baggage may include one bottle of perfume, one bottle of toilet water, one litre of strong alcoholic drink, one perfume, one toilet water, 200 cigarettes or an appropriate quantity of tobacco products as well as medicines in those quantities essential for treatment (doctor's prescription is not required for medicines).
Prohibitions and limitations
Private individuals may not import and export:
- any commercial goods;
- narcotic drugs, poisons or any other toxic substances;
- arms and ammunition (except for temporary import of hunting weapons with corresponding rounds of ammunition in case of organised game shooting);
- any material that contains substances that are harmful to public health and interests of the country.
Items having historic, artistic or cultural value as well as rare natural beauties under protection may be exported only if having the permission of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations.
Hunting weapons and ammunition (in appropriate quantities) may be temporarily brought into Serbia by domestic and foreign citizens, only when coming on an hunting trip organised by an authorised body.
Hunters can take game and hunting trophies out of Serbia only if a shipping document has been issued by for the goods (for game) or a trophy licence (for trophies).
