Free zone film festival

Free zone film festival (Slobodna zona festival) 4-9 November DKC and Dom Omladine, Beograd

Free zone film festival (Festival Slobodna zona) is based on engaged, modern film production dealing with current social and political issues from around the world.

FREE ZONE films offer a completely different view of the world, far from Hollywood spectacles and mainstream media simplifications. The audience is given the opportunity to watch awards-winning films and to participate in discussions about issues raised in those films with famous filmmakers. Each year, after the festival, with the selection of 3 to 6 films, “Free Zone” goes on a tour throughout Serbia.

The festival showcases films from around the world that address human rights and related issues, bringing together celebrated filmmakers, local experts, and local and international audiences. The festival is created out of belief that a good film experience can last much longer than its screening time and that it can provide access to alternative depiction of reality. This festival showcases films that are eye-opening and often leave their viewers with the feeling of freedom and responsibility that comes with being an active citizen.

Free Zone is not only an increasingly popular annual film festival, but also a part of a broader initiative that runs throughout the year.

This year Free zone film festival will be held 4-9 November in DKC and Dom Omladine and the program will be announced soon.
