Belgrade Summer Festival (BELEF)

Belgrade Summer Festival (BELEF)

Belgrade’s soul during the summer is defined by the Belgrade Summer Festival, BELEF synthesizing theatre, artistic dances, visual arts and music.

It represents the most important summer cultural happening, encouraging and cherishing creativity and imagination of the artists and promoting Belgrade as an open-hearted city. Through numerous travelling tours, its own productions and co-productions with cultural institutions and kindred summer festivals, BELEF incites to futher involve, cultivate, and develop creative potentials, curiosity, exploratory strength of an individual, but also nurture the needs of the auditorium, the public.

The 21st Belgrade Summer Festival – opened on Friday 25th May with an international exhibit dubbed "Point Blank - Mikser on Belef. Through August 15, Belef will encompass 14 festivals and 48 programs and become "a festival of festivals".

The concept of the event was changed this year with the desire to unite the creative forces of multiple festivals and offer a quality program over all 83 days of Belef's duration. All events at Belef will be premieres, not reruns of programs from other festivals.

Over 300 artists will present their work at around 30 concerts, three film festivals and eight exhibitions. The program will include the following segments: Mikser, Festival of Choreographic Miniatures, Standup Fest, Baskerfest, Ring Ring, Resonate, Belgrade design week, Magnificent Seven, Krokodil Supernatural, Terratorija and Belef at Kalemegdan.

All programs will be free of charge.
