The International Film Festival was founded in 1992 by the Municipality of Subotica as an attempt to create a serious regional film festival in the hard times of isolation.
In the year 2003, with its 10th edition, it became a European Film Festival and a member of the European Coordination of Film Festivals. Today the Palic Film Festival is one of most important film festivals in this region and one of the few in the world with 100% European content. During the seven festival days Palić becomes a true European capital of culture, and year after year Palić audience proves to be the audience of the highest renown.
19th International Film Festival Palić, one of the most significant festivals in the region, will be held from 14 - 20 July, 2012 at various locations in beautiful natural surroundings by the Lake of Palić and in Subotica.
This year the selection team again consists of following members: Nikolaj Nikitin (Official Selection), Petar Mitrić (Parallels and Encounters, Young Spirit of Europe), Igor Toholj (Eco Dox), Zoltan Šifliš (New Hungarian Film) and programme director Miša Mogorović.
The festival programme consists of: Official Selection, Parallels and Encounters, Young Spirit of Europe, Homage Programme for the winners of the Alexandar Lifka Award, Homage Programme dedicated to the Undergraund Spirit Award winner, New Swedish Film, New Hungarian Film, Eco Documentaries, Children’s Programme and other accompanying programmes. h
