A tourist and amusement complex AquaPark Petroland was opened Monday in Backi Petrovac, near Novi Sad.
The investor of the project is a Slovakian company Aquaterm, which has invested around EUR 6 million thus far, out of the planned EUR 22 million, President of the Government of Vojvodina Bojan Pajtic said at the opening.
"With the investments made so far and all future investments, Petroland is the biggest Slovakian investment, which will employ around 500 people in its second phase, when an Olympic-size swimming pool will be built," he pointed out.
The total area of the AquaPark is 20 ha, and the first phase of the complex, occupies 8 ha. It has more than 20 slides, 6 pools, some of which with geo-thermal water, and other fun and catering amenities. The natural geothermal water with temperature over 40 degrees Celsius, which springs from the depth of 800 meters, will make it possible for people to enjoy the complex all year round.
