Serbian for foreigners

Serbian for foreigners

Many foreigners, having lived in Serbia for several years, don't speak Serbian. Either that they are too busy or the language is too difficult to study.

Some of you might think that knowing English can help you every time and there is no need to learn foreign language in order to get along at your destination country.·In Serbia a great number of people do speak and understand English, at least the educated, business ones do. But there is always a problem in every day life, will meeting different individuals like taxi driver, sales person, waiters, sellers on the market etc. It’s a good chance a few of them will know English.

By learning Serbian language you have the opportunity to win a comprehensive experience of the life overseas and you don’t have just a superficial view of the country and people living in. Now, you are an alien no more and the culture, TV, newspapers, talks on the street, everything gets a different meaning. Furthermore, learning Serbian language will give you more confidence and help you to feel more at home. Basic knowledge of Serbian will help you deal with the everyday problems but continuing lessons while living here can offer a social opportunity for you to meet new people who are in a similar position and have the same preferences as you.

No one is expecting an expat to be fluent in Serbian right away. Yes, it can be a little bit difficult but you should take your time and try to have fun while learning. You can choose to learn it on your one, but if time is your biggest enemy and you would like to do it properly-we recommend Language school offering classes in Serbian. Serbian for foreigners programs offer non-native classes divided into pre-determined levels of proficiency in topics such as speaking, reading, writing and grammar. Quality is dependent primarily on the teacher’s ability and the size of the class.
