Serbian School Calendar

In the elementary and high schools in Serbia, the school year usually runs from the beginning of  September to middle of June of the next year and is split into four terms.

Calendar for the year 2011/2012

Term 1: The school year in Serbia starts on September 1st  and lasts until December 30th
Term 2: For the elementary school it starts January 16th  and ends on June 8th (May 25th for the eighth grader’s). For the secondary school the dates are January 16th and June 15th (May 25st for the fourth grader’s)

Schools also take four breaks/holidays

• Autumn Break: November 3th - November 6th
• Winter Break: December 31th  – January 15th
• Spring Break: April 7th - April 16th
• Summer Break: June 9th (June 16th for the secondary school pupils) - August 31st 

Schools in Serbia also take breaks during most national and certain respective state holidays – January 1st – January 3rd, February 15th, May 1st - May 2nd.
