Documents Required to Arrange a Marriage

Document Required to Arrange marriage

A fiancé who is a Serbian, submits the following documents:

  • Birth certificate (not older than 6 months)
  • Certificate of Citizenship (not older than 6 months)
  • Valid ID
  • Other documents can be required
  • Fee for the marriage registration
A fiancé who is a foreign national submits the following documents:
  • A certified copy of your birth certificate translated by a sworn court interpreter.
  • Certificate proving you are free to marry, legalized and translated by a sworn court interpreter
  • Valid passport
  • Other documents can be required

 

All documents must be original and not older than six months from the date of issue.

If one of the fiancés does not speak or understand Serbian, the presence of an interpreter is required when setting a wedding date and during the ceremony.

Personal presence is necessary.
